Giostra dell'Archidado
(May 31 - June 1, 2008) - historical recreation of AD 1397 archery
contest between the quintiere of Cortona in celebration of the
wedding of Francesco Casali & Antonia Salembeni in that year. The
recreation of the wedding will be at 21:15 on May 31 in Piazza
Signorelli and the Giostra (the Sunday after Ascension) is at 16:00 on
June 1 in Piazza Signorelli. There may be two additional events during this
period: On TBD at 21:00 in Pza. Signorelli an
exhibition of falconry; on TBD at 21:30 in Pza. Signorelli
an exhibition of Flagthrowers from Cortona & surrounding communities.
